General good hiking practices
-
- Never hike alone. Much of this area is remote and the cell service can be spotty.
- Always take plenty of water. This is, of course, even more critical during the summer when temperatures can reach 100 degrees.
- Wear a hat and comfortable hiking shoes. Remember, the walk out is as long as the walk in.
- Read about the trail you will hike. Learn about elevation changes and trail conditions.
